The World Next Door
This is a birds-eye-view action-dialogue game where you have
click-through inane conversations with teenagers (both in person and via
text) and occasional action sequences where you gather together symbols
to cast spells on enemies.
I played for about 2 hours before giving up.
THE GOOD:
- If you like staring at teenage girl midriff and jeans short shorts
all day long then you're in luck!
THE BAD:
- The game only works with controller as far as I can tell, even on
computer.
- The main character is trapped with her life in danger and the
teenagers never think to ask an adult for help. In fact, where
are all the adults? There don't seem to be any.
- If your friend's life is in danger and you're her only hope, you
still need to go to class every day, right?
- I made it to the third of the initial 4 objectives before hitting a
wall. There were 3 enemies to fight in a really narrow space. Even using
the dash mechanic I was not able to dodge their attacks and could not
get past them. Death. Death. Death. Rage quit. The End.
- I can understand why this game was being given away for free! Even
at $0 it's not worth playing.
THE UGLY:
- Ye gods the dialogue is cringe-worthy.
